Chet Faker has become one of my favorite producers with his brand of downtempo electronic music, and his work with Marcus Marr on the Work EP was on repeat since it was released. [via BFAY]

Another year…another “best of” list. Below you’ll find my top 25 albums of 2016 (see my favorite EPs here).
Like previous years, this isn’t the quintessential album list of 2016. These are my personal favorites. The albums I couldn’t get enough of. I’m sure you’ll agree with a few and disagree with even more, and that’s exactly how it should be. We all have different tastes and music would be super boring if we all listened and love the same stuff.
With that said, am I missing any of your favorites? Leave a comment and let me know. Music discovery is one of life’s simple pleasures and it’s never too late to add new favorites to the list. Enjoy.
A bit more poppy and polished than previous releases, but still a solid outing from my favorite noise pop duo. Alexis’ vocals really shine on this record and Derrick’s guitar work slays as always. This track is basically a super catchy, pop song on roids.
Perfect track to kick off one of the year’s best albums. Hands down one of my favorite overall songs of the year. I love that artists like Chance are getting their due and succeeding on their terms.

One of my favorite discoveries this year and I can’t get enough of this title track. Don’t be fooled by the minimalist package, because hiding within are layers of fuzzy synths, heavy lyrics, dreamy vocals, and unleashed sax to wrap it all up at the end.
