Rumor has it the robots are plotting a world tour in 2017.
A new website Alive 2017 has popped up and that alone makes me believe something big is on the horizon. Daft Punk produced two live albums, Alive 1997 and Alive 2007, named after their two tours. The timing also fits with Daft Punk playing live every ten years.
This could easily be a big internet hoax to get way too many people excited, but I believe (hope) it’s legit. Stay tuned.
Yesterday Sleigh Bells dropped “I Can Only Stare” – the latest single from their upcoming LP Jessica Rabbit. The duo have said this is their favorite track off the new record. I don’t know if it’s my favorite just yet, but I’ve been listening to it quite a bit the last couple of days and i’m a fan. Jessica Rabbit is due out November 11 via Torn Clean.
The xx will be headlining the three upcoming Lollapalooza South America shows in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Nothing is set after these dates just yet, but I expect more show (and LP3) announcements coming sooner than later. The South American dates will be the trio’s first shows in three years (their last gig was a 2014 show at the NYC Guggenheim Museum).
Phantogram just dropped a brand new track from their forthcoming LP Three. This one might be my favorite offering yet from the new album. Three will be released 10/7 (pre-order).
LIV is a new collaboration between Lykke Li, Andrew Wyatt and Pontus Winberg (Miike Snow), and Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn & John), and producer Jeff Bhaskar (Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak, Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Watch The Throne). Enjoy the first single “Wings of Love” below.
