Now the band has covered one of their friend and touring partner’s songs with a gorgeous rendition of ‘Heavenly Father,’ a track Vernon originally recorded for Zach Braff’s 2014 film Wish I Was Here. I’ve had my grubby little hands on Jamie xx’s In Colour for the past week or so and i’m immensely delighted to announce it exceeds all of my expectations. Easily the front runner for my favorite LP of 2015 right now. I’ve always been a fan of Jamie and I love that his signature sound and production are all over this record. But what I love even more is the exploration and experimentation with new sounds and ideas that seems to be bursting out of the record. If you’re a fan of The xx and Jamie’s previous solo offerings, you’ve probably enjoyed In Colour multiple times already. If not, please, please, please, give it a whirl. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
