(31) Days of Good//12.30.16

.Paak released the best Summer album of 2016…in January. Call it whatever you want – hip hop, neo-soul, RnB, millennial jazz, and so on. It’s all of these sounds and more. It’s powerful, it’s brilliant, it’s visionary, and it sounds fantastic.

♩ Anderson .Paak – The Season | Carry Me [from Malibu]

[andersonpaak.com]

The group’s first new release since 2012. Good Lord. This is fantastic. It may or may not be about current(?)/former(?) bandmate Amber Coffman, but it’s new Dirty Projectors and it’s fantastic. I can’t wait to hear more.

Dirty Projectors – Keep Your Name [single]

Yet another indie pop gem from a group that is finally getting the long overdue praise they deserve.

Fialta – Do the Best We Can [from Shadow of a Drought]

[on repeat] Amber Coffman//All to Myself

amber coffman

Amber Coffman (The Dirty Projectors) is venturing out on her own and based on our first taste, I believe she has a strong solo career ahead of her. “All to Myself” is the first single from the upcoming full length City Of No Reply and has a very 50s/60s doo wop sound, which i’m a big time sucker for.

Coffman sums up the new track best – “For anyone who’s ever found themselves uncomfortably restless, sad and alone, or even temporarily doubting themselves and their dreams, this is a mantra, a pep talk, a love song to yourself. It’s a song you can slow dance by yourself to without feeling funny if there’s no one else there. A small reminder not to spend too much time fretting and just to get out there, live your life and do what makes you happy.”

Enjoy the video (which Coffman also directed) below and stay tuned for more.
