[anticipation] Nick Diamonds//City of Quartz
The Unicorns/Islands frontman/Serial music composer Nick Thorburn is one busy guy. With that said, Nick has still found time to make new music under his Nick Diamonds alias and he’s gearing up to release a new solo album – City of Quartz. He’s teased us with a few tracks thus far and i’m hooked. The full album drops June 16 via Manque Music.
[anticipation] Ratatat//Magnifique
Ratatat’s fifth album, Magnifique, out July 17 on XL and includes the previously-released single “Cream on Chrome”.
[anticipation] Jamie xx//In Colour
Jamie xx will release his debut full length, In Colour, this June via Young Turks. The LP will include previously released singles “Sleep Sound” and “Girl”, along with a plethora of new tracks I can’t wait to get my greedy little ears on. In a recent interview with BBC Radio’s Annie Mac, Jamie discussed the new record and shared a new track, Loud Voices, which includes lovely vocals from fellow xx-er Romy. You can listen to that interview and song here. And if you can tolerate the signal test, you can hear bits of more new material at Jamie xx’s website.
In Colour tracklist (according to Fader, which took the time to decipher Jamie’s creative use of instagram, but may or may not be in the correct sequential order):
Gosh
Sleep Sound
See Saw [ft. Romy]
Obvs
Just Saying
Stranger in a Room [ft. Oliver Sim]
Hold Tight
The Rest Is Noise
I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) [ft. Young Thug and Popcaan]
Loud Places [ft. Romy]
UPDATE: In Colour is out June 1/2 and you can now check out two new tracks below (or via Spotify) – “Loud Places (ft. Romy)”, aka best b-side never produced by The xx, and “Gosh”, aka my new favorite Jamie xx track and final proof that he’s the best producer of my generation.
