[on repeat] Sjowgren//Now & Then

I’m a sucker for infectious indie pop gems and Sjowgren are definitely feeding my addiction. The Bay Area trio released “Seventeen” last year and I was impressed. Last month they dropped their latest single, “Now & Then,” I now I’m hooked. Stream both tracks below.

Hope to hear more new material soon, rumor has it they’re busy working on new material. Stay tuned.

[on repeat] Luke De-Sciscio//Anywhere

There’s something about this song that gets me every time I listen, but I can’t really put it down in words. Luke De-Scisio has a way to make a stripped down and subdued song like “Anywhere” sound so mesmerizing and powerful. Stream the track below and definitely watch the video to see how Luke works his magic.

“Anywhere” and Luke’s debut LP, Gossamer Rose, are both available now via bandcamp.

What are your favorite new releases this week?

[anticipation] The New Pornographers//Whiteout Conditions

The New Pornographers are set to release a new album, Whiteout Conditions, later this Spring and today they dropped their first new song since 2014’s Brill Bruisers. The new single, “High Ticket Attractions,” is classic Pornographers. So in other words, it’s indie pop gold.

Whiteout Conditions is out April 7 via the bands own label Collected Works (pre-order).
