What are your favorite new releases this week?
Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty) co-wrote the video (starring Brett Gelman and Susan Traylor) with his wife Erin Tillman and co-directed with Grant James. I Love You, Honeybear is one of the best LPs i’ve heard all year and available now on Sub Pop.
Jamie xx’s incredible, debut LP In Colour is available now via Young Turks.
The Giorgio Moroder and Mess Kid-produced track is from the new Movies EP – out June 23 on Casablanca. Enjoy the video for the first single (“More Than You”) from the EP here.
“When Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon saw the Norwegian band Highasakite play at Norway’s Oya Festival in 2012, he fell in love. Now the band has covered one of their friend and touring partner’s songs with a gorgeous rendition of ‘Heavenly Father,’ a track Vernon originally recorded for Zach Braff’s 2014 film Wish I Was Here. Bob believes the single, which showcases Helene Håvik’s beautiful voice, is even more majestic than the original.” (via NPR All Songs Considered)
