The National Visits KCRW

Tune in today (4/20) at 11:15am for a live studio performance by indie rockers, The National, on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic.  They’ll be treating listeners to tracks off one of 2010’s best releases, High Violet, and more.

If you’re itching for new stuff from The National, they have two new tracks featured on some soundtracks — game soundtrack for Portal 2 (Exile Vilify) and the film soundtrack for Win Win (Think You Can Wait).  Also, be sure to check out their tour dates and catch ’em live if you can.

Young Jesus//Young, Innocent, & Hairy

Young Jesus is an alternative rock band from the northern suburbs of Chicago.  Their sound is reminiscent of bands like The National and Titus Andronicus, but they definitely bring their own style to their songs.

They’ve been writing and playing together for the last 2 years and during this time, the band has released two EPs (Late Night Standards and Young, Innocent, & Hairy) and participated in Red Bull’s Rock the Route tour (check the YouTube webisodes here).

The band just released the new EP, Young, Innocent, & Hairy, which just happens to be available for free download here.  My favorite track is Gardens.  Check it out below and if you like what you hear, take the jump and grab the rest of the EP.
