[watch] Acid House Kings//Would You Say Stop?

The latest from Sweden’s Acid House Kings, Music Sounds Better With You, is just a few days away (out 3/22, pre-order here) and other than the latest from The Go! Team (Rolling Blackouts, out now) and the upcoming release from The Antlers (Burst Apart, out 5/10), this is one of the 2011 releases i’m most excited about.

Since way back in 1991, Acid House Kings have been creating some of the best indie pop and Music Sounds Better With You will not disappoint.  The Hype Machine had the entire album available to stream a couple of weeks ago and I pretty much listened to just that for the entire week.  The video featured below is for the track, Would You Say Stop? — a track that’s pure pop bliss…and just happens to be available for free download courtesy of labrador records.

Enjoy!

‘Rolling Blackouts’ Out Today!

Rolling Blackouts, the latest from on of my all-time favorites, The Go! Team, it out today!

This is the 3rd full-length release from the Brighton sextet and the new album once again embraces the cheerleader chants and breakdance beats that have dominated their sound since they first released Thunder, Lightning, Strike back in 2005.  I absolutely love this record and it’s safe to say it will end up on my best of ’11 list.  Standout tracks include T.O.R.N.A.D.O., Secretary Song (feat. Satomi Matsuzaki), Apollo Throwdown, Yosemite Theme, and Ready to Go Steady, but there really isn’t a bad track on this album.  Do yourself a favor and purchase Rolling Blackouts via Amazon or iTunes.  And if you get a chance, catch one of their live shows.

The Go! Team – T.O.R.N.A.D.O.

Star Slinger//Rogue Cho Pa

Star Slinger has been hard at work lately.  He produced a super good mix for the Hype Machine’s Music Blog Zeitgeist 2010 (grab Star Slinger’s mix here), his tour with Baths and Braids kicks off Feb. 2nd (more about that here), his remix of The Go! Team’s Apollo Throwdown is burning up the blogosphere, and the Teams vs. Star Slinger’s collab is out now, via Mexican Summer.

If that wasn’t enough for you, Star Slinger just dropped a new EP, Rogue Cho Pa, which is available for free on his website.  Below is one of my favorite tracks from the EP, and if you like what you hear (don’t worry, you will), head on over to starslinger.net and download the rest.

Star Slinger – Hot Potato

[bonus] The Go! Team – Apollo Throwdown (Star Slinger remix)
