The xx unveiled a brand new track while playing a sold out show in LA last week. The new song is “Swept Away” and big thanks to youtube user, mysugarspun, for capturing video of the new track. Enjoy.
TEEN has unveiled the video for “Electric”, off their forthcoming debut full-length In Limbo, out August 28th on Carpark Records. Beginning August 29th, the band will hit the road in support of the new LP (tour details via Brooklyn Vegan).
TEEN came together when Teeny Lieberson, formerly of Here We Go Magic, left her post in the latter band in order to make music with her sisters Katherine and Lizzie and longtime friends Jane Herships and former member Maia Ibar. Forgoing girl-group gimmickry and fervor, the band’s digital-only debut EP, Little Doods, fleshed out a sound of languid, lo-fi psyche pop redolent of Paisley Underground bands like Opal and Rain Parade. Since releasing the EP in April 2011, the band have steadily honed their sound around New York and readied their first long-player, In Limbo. [source: motormouthmedia]
The Mountain Goats just announced the first leg of their fall tour, kicking off October 9th in Richmond, Virginia. Opening for the band will be Matthew E. White, who wrote the horn arrangements for the band’s forthcoming release, Transcendental Youth. Before the tour kicks off, the band will play a covers and rarities set at the Hopscotch Music Festival on September 7th in Raleigh, North Carolina. Then on October 6th in Durham, they’ll perform the program Transcendental Youth with the world-renowned vocal quartet, Anonymous 4. Five songs from Transcendental Youth,in special vocal arrangements by Owen Pallett, serve as the hub of the program, which also spans the catalog of both the Mountain Goats and Anonymous 4. The program was performed earlier this year at the Ecstatic Music Festivalin New York City and at The Barbican in London. Transcendental Youth will be released by Merge Records on October 2nd.
