M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez) is busy scoring the upcoming sci-fi film, Oblivion, and over the weekend, we were treated to our first taste. The film will be released April 12th. Hopefully we’ll be treated to more of the score as we near the release. Enjoy.
Telekinesis is back with news of a brand new album, along with a new track (“Ghosts and Creatures”) to tide us over while we wait. The new album, Dormarian, will be released April 2 on Merge, followed by a Spring tour in support of the new release.

The Seattle-based husband/wife duo Summer Aviation just released their latest single “Thrust”. Following up their fantastic cover of the 60s staple “Love So Fine”, the duo continues to build buzz around their self-dubbed “sunshine fuzz pop” sound. Their debut Ep will be released this February. Fantastic news today! After a decade of silence, the one and only David Bowie is set to release his 30th album this coming Spring!
The Next Day will contain 14 brand new tracks (plus 3 bonus tracks on the deluxe edition). Along with the announcement today, Bowie also dropped a video for one of the new songs “Where Are We Now?”. I’m crossing my fingers for a tour this year, with hopes of finally seeing him live (I bet you a dollar he headlines this year’s Coachella). And last but not least, Happy 66th birthday, David!

With 2012 officially a thing of the past, it’s time to look ahead and take a look at what 2013 has in store for us. There’re a handful of new releases i’m really looking forward to, including confirmed releases from Blue Hawaii, Christopher Owens, Ex Cops, The Knife, Phosphorescent, Rhye, Summer Aviation, and Youth Lagoon.
Along with the confirmed releases, there are quite a few expected and rumored new releases that have music fans anxiously awaiting release dates. Some of the expected releases i’m most excited about in the coming year include AlunaGeorge, Desert Stars, Earl Sweatshirt, HAERTS, James Blake, MGMT, Phantogram, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. And lastly, the rumored releases i’m most hopeful for include Andre 3000, Arcade Fire, Cults, My Bloody Valentine (probably my most anticipated release), MGMT, and Sleigh Bells.
