[watch] M83//Steve McQueen

M83 recently unveiled a stun­ning video for their song “Steve McQueen,” off of 2011’s Hurry Up, We’re Dream­ing.  The video, directed by Balthazar Auxietre and Sylvain Derosne, is the winner from the competition run in partnership with Genero TV.  Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is available now on Mute, while the Steve McQueen single is available to pre-order on iTunes, with a release set for Nov 25th, featuring remixes by Maps, SALM, BeatauCue and Alluxe.  And in his spare time, Anthony is scoring the new film from the director of Tron: Legacy, Joseph Kosinski.  The movie, titled Oblivion stars Tom Cruise and will be released April 12, 2013.

[anticipation] Christopher Owens//Lysandre

Back in July, I was quite sad to hear that Christopher Owens was leaving San Francisco indie outfit Girls.  Though I wish Girls was simply on a break, I’m very much looking forward to Owens’ debut solo album, Lysandre.  Described by Owens as “a coming of age story, a road trip story, a love story,” the record was was written, recorded, and sequenced as a complete narrative, inspired by the events of Girls’ first ever tour in the summer of 2008.  Below, you can stream the album’s first two tracks — “Lysandre’s Theme” and “Here We Go”.  Lysandre will be available Jan 15th on Fat Possum Records.
