The first wave of invited acts schedule to perform at the 27th edition of the SXSW Music Festival have been announced. This list only scratches the surface of what is sure to be yet another impressive lineup. Check out the complete list here, but a few of the highlights include — alt-J, Atlas Genius, Haim, He’s My Brother She’s My Sister, Holy Esque, Humans, The Postelles, Said The Whale, San Cisco, and Why?. SXSW will take place this year March 12-17 in Austin, TX.
Next month, Big Boi will release his followup to 2011’s Sir Lucious Left Foot. To date, four new tracks have surfaced — “Mama Told Me” (feat. Kelly Rowland), “Gossip” (feat. UGK and Big K.R.I.T.), “She Said OK” (with Theophilus London), and the latest, “Lines”, which features A$AP Rocky and Phantogram. Mates of State are taking time out of recording the follow up to last year’s Mountaintops and hitting the road. In early December they’ll play a string of east coast dates that will be featuring them as the duo lineup – just Jason and Kori, the organ, drums, their voices and their original gear.
