music blogs across the net were shocked yesterday when they were informed by google that their blogs had been shutdown due to dmca claims of copyright infringement. some of the more prominent blogs that were shutdown (up and running once again and stronger than ever, good job google) were poptartssucktoasted.com and irockcleveland.com. this is getting pretty extensive coverage already, so there is really no need for me to regurgitate what has already been reported.
i just hope this doesn’t put a damper on music blogs. music blogs are not only a fantastic way for people to be exposed to music they may not have been otherwise (my ipod would be lonely if it weren’t for music blogs), and let’s not forget about the (free) extensive coverage musicians/bands get from music blogs. what happens now is still up in the air. until then, one can only ask…who’s next?
