[on repeat] The Dears

The good people at Hype Machine were generous enough to have the latest release from Canadian indie rock band, The Dears, available to stream in it’s entirety, and after my first listen of Degeneration Street, I remembered how deserving of the band is to be compared to the likes of Radiohead, Damon Albarn, and even Morrissey.

Degeneration Street marks the fifth studio album by the Canadian rockers and features a vast collection of orchestral, dark pop and passionate tracks that can only be produced by a band like The Dears—a band dedicated to creating music.

My personal favorite from the new album (at least right now) is the superb leadoff track, Omega Dog (check it out below), but other highlights include Thrones, Blood, Lamentation, and Stick With Me Kid.

Degeneration Street will be available February 15th (buy it here) and the band is currently on tour in support of the new release (dates and info here).
